Make Life Easier- Learn various methods for our D.O.P.E. - Tube/Stock  &  D.O.P.E. /  TRP - Scope Cap Stickers

-

Quality optics are a significant investment, and your scope caps should do more than just protect the glass. When used correctly, they become a simple but highly effective tool for organizing critical shooting data and improving efficiency behind the rifle.

-

Our team maintains baseline D.O.P.E. on rifle stocks/tubes and uses our scope cap stickers to record scenario, or competition-specific adjustments. Before an event, we study imagery, identify key terrain features, and develop Target Reference Points (TRPs) at various distances. This creates a quick-reference system tailored to the environment we’re about to engage in.

-

A useful method is to divide your D.O.P.E. by distance, target, or both. For example, holds from 150–600 yards can be recorded on the ocular lens cap, with 625–1,000 yards on the objective cap. If a significant TRP exists at 550 yards, annotate it accordingly. This provides immediate access to critical information without digging through a notebook or data card.

-

What is a TRP?

A Target Reference Point (TRP) is a predetermined, easily identifiable location used for target acquisition, fire control, and coordination. TRPs can be natural features such as hilltops or road intersections, or man-made features such as buildings, bridges, or designated positions.

-

Why use TRPs?

TRPs simplify communication and improve situational awareness. Instead of lengthy coordinates or detailed directions, shooters can reference a known point and immediately understand the location being discussed. This reduces confusion, speeds decision-making, and enhances effectiveness in dynamic environments.

-

The more efficiently you can organize and access your data, the more attention you can devote to the fundamentals of marksmanship and making accurate first-round hits.
